Travel from Kandy to Kitulgala, a green river valley known for its rapids and rainforest. Meet your activity operator and, if conditions allow, take on the Kelani River on a white-water rafting trip. After lunch there is time for a short nature walk or a visit to a nearby viewpoint before heading back to Kandy.

Route: Kandy → Kitulgala → Kandy

Best for adventure travellers and groups. Rafting depends on weather, river levels, age and health requirements and the operator's safety rules. If rafting is not possible or not for you, we can arrange a non-rafting alternative.

Day01

Kitulgala Adventure Day

  • 6:30 AM Pick-up in Kandy and depart for Kitulgala.
  • 9:00 AM Arrive in Kitulgala and meet the pre-arranged activity operator.
  • 9:30 AM Optional white-water rafting, only when conditions, age/health requirements and operator safety rules permit.
  • 12:00 PM Lunch.
  • 1:00 PM Optional short nature walk or visit to a nearby viewpoint, subject to access and weather.
  • 2:30 PM Depart for Kandy.
  • 5:00–6:00 PM Estimated return to Kandy.
